Driver CPC training now available...
We can now offer a variety of driver training programmes via our CPC approved training partners. All programmes can be either 'off the record' or count fully towards driver CPC qualification.
DRIVER CPC TRAINING The company philosophy is that quality comes first. For that reason, we do not insist on minimum group sizes but instead charge a flat fee, irrespective of how many drivers attend. Our training is discussion and reasoning based rather than a lecture or ‘death by PowerPoint’. This allows the smaller group size to feel involved which will help aid in the retention of the information presented. Of course, you may put as many drivers on the course as you like, but we recommend group sizes of three to six. The courses we offer are based around the following subjects - WALKROUND CHECKS & DEFECTS - How this links in with the responsibility of being a professional driver.
- TACHOGRAPHS - How to use the tachograph unit and the card, how and when to do manual entries and how and when to printout, including translating that printout.
- HEALTH & SAFETY LAW - Why we work the way we do and what every individuals responsibilities are under the law.
- HEALTH & SAFETY PRACTICALITIES - Discussing the many ways in which professional drivers work with a focus on health & safety in everyday life.
- EU DRIVERS HOURS & THE WTD - Examining the rules and how they work in practice.
SAFED TRAINING In this day and age with tight operating margins and high fuel costs, saving every last litre of fuel will make a difference to the bottom line of any business. As an approved SAFED instructor, I am perfectly placed to advise all transport staff from drivers upward on areas in which fuel can be saved. This includes in-cab and classroom training with the driving teams, culture management advice and training with supervisors and managers and data management with senior staff. When it comes to SAFED, a little really does go a long way and 5-10% saving is very possible by making just a few small changes to driving style, route planning and driver supervision.
